Why New Life?
In the beginning, New Life Recovery Services operated as recovery transitional houses in the center of Rose Village, Vancouver, Washington, providing housing and support to people in need of treatment for drug use disorders. Since its founding, it has grown into a successful organization that can now serve a larger clientele and produce better results. Together, the peers who received services determined that in order to improve each time we move forward, we needed more services, programs, and deliberate next steps. It became what it is today—a constantly expanding and changing community resource that helps the homeless and others impacted by chemicals—with that kind of thinking and compassion. We pledge to deliver direct services within our areas of expertise, identify external resources, and develop our program to supply those external resources down the road. As a collaborative agency, we are trauma-informed and work with individuals using person-centered planning, harm reduction education, and numerous research-based interventions. We also collaborate with our on-site partners.
Behavioral Health Services and more
We are developing our peer support program, including various types of housing and job support for those in recovery from substance use disorders, and this spring we will launch our outpatient milieu of services. In order to make sure we are staffing each department adequately and effectively; we have purposefully built each program phase before moving on to the next through our onboarding process.

Transitional Housing
We run two transitional homes: The Rock, which has 14 beds for men, and The Samaritan House, which has 6 beds for women. Our primary goal is to assist clients in obtaining long-term, permanent housing and maintaining their recovery from different drug use patterns after they leave our program. All referrals for transitional housing go through coordinated entry, and completion of a coordinated entry housing evaluation is required before you are admitted.
